23 Sep Wallpaper…Back and Better than EVER!
For years I’ve been trying to get my clients to use wallpaper, and every time I suggest it, I’m forced to have the same discussion with them. They are always nervous about it being too busy, and they don’t know if it would work in their space. I don’t know if it’s the stigma from the wallpaper that was used in the 70’s, or if they are nervous about having to take it down later on. Either way, I’m going to finally put an end to all of the wallpaper doubters out there!
The wallpaper available now is most definitely not your mom and dad’s wallpaper. It now comes in a variety of colors and patterns, and can go from being whimsical to sophisticated. My favorite company to find amazing wallpapers is Graham and Brown. You could get lost on that site for hours ( and yes, I have actually spent hours drooling over wallpaper).
If having multiple colors in the wallpaper makes you a bit nervous, there are a variety of wallpapers available that are paintable. This means that you can paint the wallpaper the same color as your walls, but you are adding some texture to the space by inserting a pattern.
Wallpapers are also extremely easy to install and are made to come down easily as well. This means that if you get tired of it, you will not be stuck with it forever. Most wallpapers that are now available in stores come pre-pasted. All you really have to do is get it wet, stick it on your wall, and line up your pattern!
I know that it can be a little scary choosing something with color and pattern to go on a wall in your home. You might feel that it will overwhelm your space, or make it look too busy. But if you choose one wall (this will be your accent wall), then it won’t be overwhelming, and will breathe new life into your space!

Posted at 13:42h, 23 SeptemberSo so true. I am looking for a wide stripe wallpaper for my hallway and up the stairs too. We have Graham and Brown here too so will definitely have a look. Must say your last photo above definitely has that 70’s vibe! I am old enough to remember that look the first time round!
