Finding the Perfect Venue

Have an anniversary, milestone or wedding coming up? Before getting into the nitty gritty of planning your event, one of the first things to do is find the right venue. With Montreal acting as your backdrop, you are privileged to have a vast amount of locations to choose from. Depending on the overall look you are hoping to evoke, the venue should reflect the theme in order to complete the package.

Trends we’re seeing this year for our 2014 weddings:

  • 1920’s to 1950’s era with gold embellishments and vintage touches
  • Modern elegance with soft neutral tones and romantic feminine touches
  • Chic and cozy rustic style affairs

To give you an idea of where to host your lavish affair, here are some locations we will be having the pleasure of working with throughout the 2014 wedding season:

Suite 701
  • Sophisticated, chic and modern
  • Smooth lighting to help set the mood of the event and enhance the already sophisticated atmosphere
  • Options to rent out a private room that fits up to 30 (great for smaller corporate events), or the lounge for larger parties
  • Offers a rooftop ceremony at Le Place D’Armes, located just above Suite 701, for a complete wedding package all in one spot! www.hotelplacedarmes.com

Marché Bonsecours
  • Superb view of the St Lawrence River, and one of the Old Port’s historic treasures
  • Considered one of the ten finest heritage buildings in Canada
  • Can accommodate parties ranging from 100 to just under 1000 (variety of reception halls to choose from)
  • No need for much décor as the venue itself is charming, elegant and romantic
  • Offers stone walls, high vaulted ceilings and ample windows, making for a spectacular event
  • Salle de La Commune, the space that we are coordinating a wedding in, offers a mezzanine and a private entrance
  • Opportunity to hire your own caterer with highly functional kitchen facilities and bring in all your own rentals to suite your theme

Auberge Le Saint Gabriel
  • European atmosphere in the heart of the Old Port
  • Building offers great charm and character; the old stone walls and candle lit fireplace gives it the warmth of an old cottage, while remaining chic and modern through its quirky and unpretentious décor (bar displays two large sculptures of two moose heads joined at the neck, while the restaurant’s entrance is home to a massive whale’s spine that has been incorporated to create somewhat modern and avant garde light fixtures)
  • Space for both the ceremony and reception – offers different private spaces within the auberge
  • Three rooms to choose from: Salle Dulong, La Truteau and our favorite -Le Grenier (beautiful barn feel with suspended lighting and vaulted timber frame ceiling)
